My plan is to take some pictures of me with my tripod next week.but ve "never my own image before you have a tripod that pictures of Nice could get some tips on how to take good photos.

No, in general, can not photograph stands. I recommend that instead of a camera.
Of course you can!
Place the tripod so that on a flat surface.
Make sure that you are in an area / lounge, etc., where they stand in front of the camera so that you the shot while the camera see.
You can take a few test shots, but little to be sure how the lighting / positioning / etc
Just have fun with it!
Oh, and using a timer on the camera is the only way to go or not just press myspace style tripod.

Si takes a little skill and imagination to really well done, or self-timer shooting tons of frames. At least I think so. Usually get help, be it as a substitute to replace, once you have the focus and the parameters of the composition, or ask someone to snap the shutter once can I have my chance.
No - you need your camera. LOL
If you try to self-portraits too, then it would be better if it is a statement of the distance, preferably a radio / IR one, rather than relying on self-timer.
You can configure just the right light to get decent self-portraits, etc..
